Old Phuket Town Festivals

Thalang Road, Soi Romanee and Krabi Road play coordinator to some yearly Old Town Cultural Festival each February. One more nice celebration was Phuket Street Show Festival last December with lots and lots of locals and tourists upon the streets through the night and various Thai and international artists performing shows.

Old Phuket Town Attractions

Inside the eastern section of Thalang Road is Queen Sirikit Garden, a little park constructed in 2004 to commemorate her 72th birthday. We such as the place as a result of the large Golden Dragon sculpture at its entry is a superb photo motif. Directly next inwith it you could find the constructing of Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Wat Putta Mongkon Nimit in Dibuk Road, merely opposite of Soi Romanee, is probably the most lovely Buddhist temples in Phuket Town. It options all famous parts of Thai temple design such as the steep multi-tiered gable roof with stylised finials in the ridge and eaves, called cho fa, which resemble the beak of the bird.

Sino-Colonial Mansions is yet another achitectual highlight of Old Phuket Town are stately Sino-colonial mansions, being the previous homes of rich Chinese tin barons or merchants. The greatest example is probably the Blue Elephant Governor Mansion in 96 Krabi Road.

Sino-Portuguese Shophouses is just one of famous spot in Phuket Town. You can begin your tour at Promthep Clock Tower in the intersection of Phang Nga Road and Thepkasatri Road. At subsequent intersection you currently reach Thalang Road, the core of Phuket’s Old Town and also the commercial centre in past years.
